You Can't Always Get What You Want...

Previously, on Mental Scar Craptacular...

The Who played in San Antonio last night.

The Styx & Foreigner played last night at the same venue in Austin.

Pete Townshend and his girlfriend were hanging around SXSW in Austin last weekend. Just out in public, waltzing around.

And I missed all of it. The levels of pissed that I am feeling are indescribable.

I really need to start allowing myself to go to big events by myself. If I can go to a movie by myself, surely I can go to a concert by myself.

Otherwise, I sit here on my arse feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't find a single soul to go with me to anything last night. Somehow, watching The Sopranos on HBO: On Demand for the tenth time just doesn't seem to match up to the same level of "teh awesome" that I seek.

Have today off from work and since I have nothing really interesting to report and nothing else better to do, I'm going to see if Tony recovers from his coma.

Again.

For the 10th time.

FYI ~ The Who postponed their concert last night. :(

If I could miss a day of work, I would love to drive to Ausitn but it's TAKS countdown time. I dare not be absent under penalty of death!!

Nyaggghhh! Horrors! These are not the kinds of things you should miss, at all!

I believe we need to take lessons from each other: You start doing keen stuff by yourself Because You Can, and I'll start seeking human accompaniment when -I- do keen stuff.

hee.

I can imagine! Most of my teaching pals have been dreading this time of year for that exact reason. Good luck and I hope your kids pass everything with honors! :)

Also, thanks for the update on The Who. Seems that Daltrey's viral infection finally cleared up but no word on when the makeup concert will be. Maybe, just maybe, I might just go ahead and score a ticket somehow and go.

Perhaps fate is providing a second chance???

So true. Hearing that the Who cancelled softened the blow a bit, but damn if I don't have a lot of ground to cover in doing things by myself.

Odd thing is that I can drive halfway across the country, indeed, go on vacations by myself but I can't go and see a concert by my lonesome. How strangely odd is that?!?

It's -very- odd! I am going to stand over here, halfway across the country, and glare at you balefully until you purchase the makeup concert tix.
